OUR HISTORY

“Made in Italy” for the last 75 years.

The origins of A.A.G. Stucchi are strongly rooted in a specific tradition of highly specialized Italian manufacturing excellence which has ensured we stand out in the markets we serve.

Italy, and in our specific case the province of Lecco has been badly hit by bombings during WW 2.
Resources are thin on the ground but the year sees the founding of Electra, the precursor to A.A.G. Stucchi’s industrial success story.

Electra officially becomes A.A.G. Stucchi. The company’s founding members are Aristide, Arturo and Giuseppe Stucchi.

From the beginning, quality is one of the company’s principal objectives. 1953 sees the appearance of the company’s first product quality certificates.

Achille Castiglioni wins the “Compasso d’oro” for his famous Luminator lamp. The Italian economy is set to enter its boom years. A.A.G. Stucchi begins to expand. The first lampholder for T5 fluorescent lamps is introduced.

Lamp design is becoming increasingly sophisticated. A.A.G. Stucchi creates the first rotor lock lampholder.

A.A.G. Stucchi introduces its homeworking system, which employs a large number
of families and has a huge impact on the local community. The company becomes a cornerstone of daily life.

The boom years finally arrive. Millions of Italians dream of living “la bella vita”. The
year also sees the production of the first lampholder featuring automatic fixing.

Style and functional design are fused as part of a new concept of quality which is ahead of its time. The year also sees the introduction at A.A.G. Stucchi of Quality Control Manual procedures.

Technology takes another leap forward as the company introduces the first automated assembly machine for lampholders.

The 1980’s explode into life and contemporary lighting design keeps step with the times, featuring a host of new forms and innovations. The first terminal block specifically designed for the lighting industry is introduced.

A.A.G. Stucchi brings in a set of standard protocols to ensure the quality of its industrial processes, with the implementation of an ISO 9002-certified Quality Management System.

A crucial year for the company, as it expands its operations beyond the Italian National border, opening a first overseas office in France.

Growth in production means a new more modern and functional site is required. The new plant, also located in Olginate, has an area of 45,000.

The new millennium sees the company adopting a more global approach outlook,
without losing sight of its duty of responsibility towards the community in which it operates. A fundamental element in ensuring this is the certification of its Environmental Management System to the ISO 14001 standard.

Years of great change on a global scale that see the company expanding into overseas markets, where the best business opportunities lie. A commercial branch office is opened in North America.

Growth in production leads to the building of a new warehouse offering cuttingedge storage facilities and capacity

East is where the market opportunities lie, making the company’s first branch office in the Far East is a logical development.

With the ecology a growing concern, A.A.G. Stucchi introduces its “Smart Choice” strategy. A key feature is the introduction of a range of transparent lampholders combining clever design that benefits lighting efficiency with sound practices from an ecological (e.g. fewer colouring additives), technical and economic point of view.

LED technology, offering a range of new capabilities, begins to make its mark. The company responds to the development by introducing its first LED module holder, as a new concept combining style with functional design begins to take shape.

A.A.G. Stucchi is elected to the steering committee of the Zhaga Consortium of lighting companies, whose objectives include achieving standardization of LED interfaces to ensure their interchangeability, demonstrating that the mark of a strong leader is the ability to blaze a trail for others to follow.

7100 LED module holder becomes the first LED module holder worldwide to be awarded official Zhaga certification and to bear the consortium’s trademark symbol.

With the LED market in constant expansion, the company’s product range is extended to include the new family of holders for Chip On Board (COB) LED modules.

The shareholding structure changes and siblings Aristide and Alice Stucchi take over 100% control of A.A.G. Stucchi. By doing this they also found GRUPPOSTUCCHI, composed by A.A.G. Stucchi and PFA, an alluminum extruder.

Synergies with PFA, active in the extrusion field, lead to the launch of new product families as CRYSTAL heat sinks first and ONETRACK tracks for track lighting right after.

A.A.G. Stucchi acquires ELETPLAST CONNECTORS, specialized in the production of connectors for lighting and building fields; thus completing the connections product range.

A.A.G. Stucchi keeps on working on solutions and systems more than on the singular component. The launch of MULTISYSTEM range for low voltage track lighting is the best example of this new approach.

A.A.G. Stucchi shed its skin and attends L&B fair with a total new look. The aim is to be recognized by its clients as a partner with whom to develope complete solutions for the lighting field.
